James and Eddie were also the few positive depictions of vampires on the show, and both of them were gay as well. The show, overall, was a mixed bag. It does a good job in some areas of representing certain groups of people. However, there were also some really tone-deaf and offensive moments on the show that have caused it to age poorly.
